I'm not sure what a mustang GT will run in the 1/4 mile, but if I were you I would start with a CAI, Tune, and a catback exhaust that should be enough to beat a stock mustang but not 100% sure on that. thumb.gif

Step on the gas... Mustangs are not really any faster than your truck, and only the new gen one's at that. Fastest stock stang I've seen is 13.8. Fastest NA was last night 13.3. Most are in the high 14s low 15s being traction limited and still only run about 100mph.

With a tune and cold air intake you should be able to easily beat them. Specially the older ones.
The newest generation Mustangs could be a good race with a good driver.

Don't be afraid of them wiener 4.6 V8's, the most power those things pull off is like 270hp without a blower, most mustangs I see are six bangers anyway..............

I find it funny being in the thread just becuase my whole life i have been into mustangs and still am but i do love the SS, but you should be able to beat most stock mustangs out there except for the 05+ will give you a good race. some 99-04 5 speeds with an awsome driver my give you a good race also but 90% of the time you would beat them.

the new stangs ought to be pullin the TBSS' the sn95 GTs and the new edge GTs should be getting beat. Avoid all cobras especially AFTER 1997, not so much a threat stock but with a blower "NASTY". Just race him from a dig and see who wins, if he wins get a CAI, LTs and a tune and try it again. What year is his stang, is it a cobra or a mach 1? Is it stock? There are alot of variables with this, just have fun.

i know a guy with a mustang and he has the 4.6 with somewhere around a 4.30 gear ratio, program, and intake. and i run dead even with him, he has to spray to beat me.

well ive not raced any yet ut i think bout the fastest one in my little town is a 07 gt model with minor boltons headers cai and a handheld tune most of em is just regular gts couple of the body style just b4 the new one n mostly the new bodyd ones i have a K&N CAI and a superchips tune and a muffler delete should i switch to the ieatsrt8 intake? im thinking some headers and a pcmforless aggressive cam should take em pritty easy and stay in my budget or should i go efans?? kinda lost on where to start actually

PCMforless attitude cam and required hardware, PCMforless tune, and efans. and you'll be eating em up and spittin em out. if you have the full K&N cai there is no need to switch it wont make enough difference to pay for the other intake problly no difference at all.
